Neemrana II Kotputli Transmission Line is a power line project envisaged by the Government of India and to be executed by Sterlite Power. The project is being implemented to evacuate RE power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-1) (Bikaner Complex): PART-B” through tariff based competitive bidding process.

The project involves the development of two critical components: a 6,000 MVA, 765/400kV substation at Neemrana and two 400 kV transmission lines covering approximately 250kms.

The project will facilitate power supply from Renewable Energy (RE) zones in Rajasthan and will help in meeting the rising power demand in Gurugram, Haryana. It will augment the transmission infrastructure and will help reduce deliberate reduction in generation of RE power in Rajasthan REZs to maintain demand-supply balance. It will also help avoid future load shedding and provide for future household and commercial power requirements in Gurugram, Haryana.

Transmission lines are safe for human beings, environment, and property. The transmission line will have no adverse impact on the agricultural produce. You can continue farming activities beneath the line. Also, we have maintained the minimum ground clearance as per electrical safety guidelines of Indian electricity act 2003 and optimised the route in such a way so that minimum tree cutting can be ensured for the transmission corridor.

Electricity does not run through transmission towers. Electricity runs through conductors only and conductors are connected to the transmission tower through the isolated medium called as insulators. So even if you touch the transmission tower, you will not get electric shock. Also, the transmission line is protected by fast acting relays and circuit breakers which operates within 500 milliseconds thus providing sufficient protection.

BTL project has no adverse impact on environment. Sufficient bird flight protectors are being installed throughout the line in order to protect the birds as per Supreme Court (SC) order issued for areas of endangered Great Indian Bustard (GIB).

Land acquisition is not required for transmission line projects. So, no land will be acquired for the project. The land title will continue to remain with the original land owner. Only, ‘Right of Way’ is required as per the provisions of Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, Indian Electricity Regulations 1956 and Indian Electricity Act 2003 and subsequent amendments.

Yet, tree/Crop compensation will be paid to legitimate Beneficiaries in accordance with applicable state guidelines and Central Government rules and Regulations.
